When we waste food, we also waste all the energy and water it takes to grow, harvest, transport, and package it. Today, Caylie Moyra, discusses the Food Recovery Program on Gabriola Island as part of our Week for the Future campaign. This collaboration between People for a Healthy Community, Nesters Market – Gabriola and many dedicated volunteers, has kept an estimated 20,000 lbs out of the landfill Jan-June of this year alone!
